Our lab is looking for a new postdoctoral research fellow to help us in performing molecular biology screens to identify genetic elements that will enhance the efficacy and safety profile of our gene therapy programs . Candidates must have a PhD in molecular biology or similar. Experience with molecular/cell biology techniques as well as sequencing would be great. Enthusiasm essential! The post is a fixed term 12 month position.

We have a modern apprenticeship position in our group, working as a research technician on a gene therapy project to treat children with Rett syndrome.

You’ll be working in a growing team, providing support in both the laboratory and the research animal facility where you will mainly work with mice. The post will be based in central Edinburgh as well as our sister animal facility at the Roslin Institute.

We have three PhD studentships on offer in our group. One studentship, offered via the Simons Initiative for the Developing Brain (SIDB), is to develop novel genetic therapies targeting SynGAP (deadline 15th January 2018). We have two more studentships, via The Patrick Wild Centre, to develop genetic therapies in Fragile X syndrome (deadline 5th February 2018).
